Vista Equity Partners, a major private equity firm, has joined forces with investment firm Quinti Capital to make a takeover offer for Criteo SA, the French advertising-technology company. The deal, which is still under discussion, was confirmed by people familiar with the matter. Criteo is known for its performance-based digital advertising and retargeting services, helping brands reach customers across the web.

The potential acquisition comes at a time when the ad-tech sector is seeing increased consolidation. Criteo has been working to diversify its business beyond traditional retargeting, moving into retail media and commerce data. Vista Equity, which specializes in software and technology investments, has a history of acquiring and restructuring public companies.
