A new manufacturing process could change how people with complex vision problems get contact lenses. Researchers have developed a method to 3D print soft contact lenses in about 20 minutes, potentially eliminating the need for multiple visits to an eye doctor.

The breakthrough addresses a long-standing challenge in optometry: creating comfortable, well-fitting lenses for patients with irregular cornea shapes.
